DESCRIPTION:Join us for a huge afternoon of free entertainment as we launch the Boroondara Community Plan\, a guide for our City’s future! \n\n\n\n\n\nSunday 4 March 2018\, 12pm to 4pm\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCelebrate all that’s great about Boroondara at this fun-filled event with a range of workshops\, activities and performances for all ages as we launch the Boroondara Community Plan. \nEnjoy interactive sessions on topics including beekeeping\, decluttering and growing your own food\, as well as tours of the historic Hawthorn Arts Centre. \nYou can even take part in a full virtual reality experience! \nThere’s plenty to keep the kids entertained too\, with a live performance from Peppa Pig\, smoothie bikes\, craft activities and much more. \nSpecial Guest Speaker Eco Organiser® Tanya Lewis from 2.15pm to find out more detail  \nGetting to the festival \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Boroondara Village Festival is being held on the same day as the Glenferrie Festival\, so public parking will be limited in the area. Glenferrie Road will also be closed between Barkers and Burwood roads during the festival. \nTo avoid traffic congestion\, we recommend you either take public transport or take advantage of our free bike valet service. \nPublic transport \nTrain – Alamein/ Belgrave/ Lilydale lines (Arrive at Glenferrie Station\, walk 2 mins south along Glenferrie Rd then turn left into Burwood Rd.) \nTram 16 – Melbourne University to Kew (Alight at stop 52.) \nTram 70 – Docklands to Wattle Park (Alight at stop 32 and walk north on Glenferrie Rd for 5 mins until you get to Burwood Rd. Turn right and walk 1 min east along Burwood Rd.) \nTram 75 – City to Vermont South (Alight at stop 32 and walk north on Glenferrie Rd for 5 mins until you get to Burwood Rd. Turn right and walk 1 min east along Burwood Rd.) \nBike valet service \nRide your bike to the festival and park it for free in a secure area near the Hawthorn Arts Centre. \nYou’ll be issued with a ‘claim check’ in exchange for your bike and our staff will guard them in a secure corral. When you’re ready to leave\, present your ‘claim check’ and get your bike back. \nThe bike valet service is located on Burwood Rd next to the Hawthorn Arts Centre. The service is available from 12 pm to 4 pm. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
