Homemade Fast Food

How to save time and money by making your own fast food

Time and money are things we are always looking for, there are nights when we just don’t feel like cooking and it is very tempting to order in.

Yet so many options available on the end of the phone line are not overly healthy and come in so sort of packaging, which just adds more waste to the recycle bin.

Rather than spending money on fast food and adding more throw away packaging to waste to the waste stream,  why not make your own healthy fast food.

I’m too busy, so what’s in it for me?

Time is a big factor when it comes to cooking and preparing the evening meal, but have you ever factored in the time it takes to drive by and pick up the fast food, or sit in the drive through. How about the extra hours you have to work to earn the money to buy the food? There are so many benefits in preparing you own home cooked meals. I mean just ask Dr Mark Hyman and Jamie Oliver

Reduce Food waste

Montmorency Declutter Your Kitchen and Reduce Food Waste- The 10R’s™

Learn how to declutter your kitchen and reduce food waste.

Food waste not only wastes money,  it also adds to our carbon footprint. Knowing how to store food in our refrigerator is a very simple way to reduce food waste. Did you know the average Victorian household throws out $40 worth of food a week? That is $2080 per year, can you imagine what you would do with an extra $2080 per year, how about $20 800 over ten years!

Wasted food is the world’s third-biggest carbon emitter after China and US, just by storing our food correctly reduces food waste.

We will share our tips on how to

  • Declutter and eco organise your kitchen
  • How to stop the takeaway take over
  • How to write a shopping list
  • Don’t get stuck in the food rut, recycle your favourite recipes
  • How to cook within your schedule
  • How to organise your fridge and pantry to reduce food waste, save time and money
  • Fall in love with your kitchen and rekindle your food love affair
  • How to create a beautiful kitchen on a shoe string budget
  • When to shop and the tools you need
  • How and where to store perishables

Food waste accounts for more greenhouse gas emissions than any country except China and the United States, according to a United Nations report. It says every year about a third of all food for human consumption, around 1.3 billion tonnes, is wasted, along with all the energy, water and chemicals needed to produce it and dispose of it

Workshop Mentone

De Clutter and simplify your life without costing the Earth- The 10R’s™

Are you tired of wasting time looking for stuff?

Are you tired of wasting money?

The consequences of clutter on people cannot be underestimated, recent surveys show that “ The average Australian family spend $1226 per year on stuff they never use’ and ‘one in eight people moved home to accommodate stuff” says Tanya Lewis Professional Eco Organiser and founder of The 10R’s ™,

“Did you know that the average Victorian family throws out $40 worth of food a week” says Tanya. The impact of over consumption on the environment, personal finances and peace of mind are some of the many issues she covers in her interactive workshops, while showing how easy it is to learn how to become skilled, benefit from getting organised and simply stay that way

Tuesday 8th November  2016 Tanya will be conducting her workshop in the City of Kingston.  She will discuss how easy it is to create more time and space in people’s lives through de-cluttering their homes and workplaces in a simple and environmentally way using her 10R’s™ philosophy – Rethink –Responsible-Refuse-Repurpose-Reorganise-Repair-Reduce-Reuse-Recycle-Reward is not just an organising system but a way of life.

In her workshop Tanya, will address ways that reduce the now common trend around the world where people have become overwhelmed with stuff to the point where they simply cannot function, or find things, so they go and buy more

Working in conjunction with local charities she has helped divert over 12 000kg of unwanted items from landfill.  Tanya’s aim is to redirect quality unwanted “clutter” to people that need it, thus extending its life, reducing waste to landfill and helping others free their lives from clutter.

Author STUFF OFF! Suffocated by Clutter? Practical tips that won’t cost the Earth-to rid your life of Clutter, accredited Expert member Australasian Association of Professional Organisers, Inc, Victorian Ambassador Garage Sale Trail 2015, 2016, Tanya has also gained growing recognition in the national media for her organisational expertise including ABC 774, ABC Warrnambool, Gippsland, Albury, 3BA, The Project, National Nine News, Home Beautiful, Herald Sun, Australian Natural Health and The Owner Builder, The Coast, The Weekly Review, The Leader.
